  ALERT      The Process of Online Application Form Submission for JEE MAIN 2018 will start from 01st Dec 2017 and last date for submission is 01st Jan 2018. The fee can be paid upto 2nd Jan 2018. The examination of JEE (Main) – 2018 in pen-paper based (offline) mode will be conducted on 08th April 2018 and Computer Based Mode (Online) Examination will be conducted on 15th & 16th April 2018.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national level engineering entrance exam to be held yearly in India. JEE basically a common entrance examination for admission to different engineering courses. Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2018

Before filling online application form of JEE (MAIN)-2018, the candidate must read out the minimum qualification, age limit and nationality eligibility required.

Nationality & Citizenship

It doesn’t matter whether you’re Indian Citizen or from Foreign Nationals, you might be eligible for JEE Mains, if you fulfill the below criteria –

  • Indian Citizen can apply.
  • NRIs, PIOs, OCIs & Foreign national candidates can also apply.

Age Limit & Date of Birth

For General & OBC:

  • As per the JEE Main Eligibility 2018, the candidates must have born after 1st          October 1993 i.e. they must not age more than 24 Years while appearing in the exam.

For ST/SC/PWD:

  • The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2018 says that the candidates belonging to any of these categories – ST, SC, PWD can be benefitted with 5 Years of Age Relaxation.
    This means that they must have born after 1st October 1988 (Upper Age Limit – 29 Years) to appear in the exam.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)

We have classified the ‘IIT JEE Mains 2018 Eligibility Criteria – Years of Appearance’ in 3 categories based on their Educational Qualification. Please check below –

  • 12th Class/Equivalent Exam Passed Out Candidates in 2016/2017.
  • 12th Class/Equivalent Exam Appearing Candidates in 2018.
  • Diploma Holders who have already passed or are in their final year of pursuing Degree.

Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE)

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main) – 2018. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) 2018 and if such candidates appear in JEE(Main) 2018 by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

ABOUT JEE (Main)–2018

Mode of Examination:

The Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) (described below) of JEE(Main)will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.) of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) only.

Type of Examination:

JEE (Main) – 2018 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.), or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to. Subject combinations for each paper, type of questions in each paper and mode of examination available is given in the table below.

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern:

Below is the complete exam pattern for  JEE entrance exam 2018. JEE (Main) – 2018 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.). The duration of exam is 3 hours.

  •    For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded to the candidates.
  •   1 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.

  •   The duration of the exam will be 3 hours (180 minutes). For PWD category, the     candidates with 40% or more disability, will be given 1-hour extra time.

Number of Attempts:

The exam authorities have set a rule regarding JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria that the candidates will only be able to appear in the exam for 3 times. This means that any candidate can avail only 3 chances to give the JEE Mains Exam.

Provisions for Persons with Disabilities:

  •  The candidates with disability should fill in the type and percentages of disability correctly in the online application formfor JEE (Main) 2018.
  • Only the candidates, who have 40% or more disability, will be provided Scribe/Reader on the request ofthe candidate.
  •  The candidate will have the discretion of opting his/her own scribe/reader or may submit the request to the centre superintendent for the same.
  • The centre superintendent will identify the scribe/ reader. In case a request is received from the candidate, he/she would be allowed to meet the scribe a daybefore the examination to verify the suitability of the scribe.
  • One hour compensatory (extra) time will also be allowed to the candidates with 40% or more disability irrespective of the fact that thecandidate(s) is/areavailing the facility of scribe/reader.

JEE (MAIN) 2018 official website

The official website of JEE (MAIN) 2018 is same as of 2018 JEE entrance exam. You can check jeemain.nic.in for latest news and updates. The aspirant of  engineering can visit the official website of JEE (MAIN) 2018 for online application form, download admit card, correction in form, all India quota details, counselling, admission in ENGINEERING college wise cut-off marks, score card etc.

Applying Online and Submission of Application

The online submission of particulars, uploading of scanned photograph and signature may be made at JEE (Main) jeemain.nic.in website. The candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form. On submission of details, a Acknowledgement Page with Application No. shall be generated.
Candidates are required to take printout of Acknowledgement Page and keep it for
reference. TheAcknowledgement Page is not requiredto be sent to JEE (Main) Secretariat.

The application fee payment can be made:
(a) by credit/debit card/Paytm or
(b) by depositing fee in cash in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC bank through e-challan
generated during the online filling of application form.
