  • Sachin Tendulkar: effective Swachhata ambassador award
    At the Safaigiri 2019 organized by the India Today group, the Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was awarded “The most effective Swachhata Ambassador”. The former Indian Cricketer was chosen as he utilized his fame and popularity to ensure India achieved its goal of Swachh Bharat.

 

  • US military test fires Minuteman III ballistic missile
    After North Korea tested a ballistic missile from the coast of Wonsan, US tested an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile. The missile was launched from the California base. The missile traveled 6,750 km across Pacific Ocean to the Kwajalein Atoll in Marshall Islands.

 

  • Typhoons?
    Typhoon is the regional names for Tropical Cyclones that occurs in Western Pacific and South China Sea i.e. in Philippines islands, eastern China and Japan the tropical cyclones are called typhoons.Cyclone that develops between 180° & 100°E in the Northern Hemisphere.

 

  • National Nutrition Survey
    The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organized first National Nutrition Survey.With help from UNICEF to complete the survey. The
    survey was conducted between 2016 and 2018. In India, for the 1st time the ministry measured malnutrition that included micro nutrient deficiencies. It was done by collecting urine samples and blood samples.

 

  • Herbert David Kleber
    American psychiatrist and substance abuse researcher. From 1968 to 1989, he founded and headed the Drug Dependence Unit at Yale University, where he was Professor of Psychiatry.

 

  • China launches its first Amphibious Assault Ship
    China has launched its first amphibious assault ship in Shanghai. This ship would enable ground forces to carry out attacks on enemy territory from sea. It is independently developed by China and has a strong capacity in amphibious operations as well as performing a variety of tasks.

 

  • Minor Planet named after Pandit Jasraj
    The IAU – International Astronomical Union has named a minor planet between Mars and Jupiter after an Indian classical singer Pandit Jasraj. He is the first Indian musician to receive this honor. The planet was discovered on November 11, 2006.

 

  • M P Birla Memorial Award
    About M P Birla Memorial Award The award was established in 1993 to recognise the excellence in research in space science, astrophysics, astronomy, and related areas. It comprises a citation, trophy and a cheque for Rs 2,51,000.

 

  • India lift SAFF U-18 Championship title for first time
    India won the SAFF Under-18 football Championship by defeating Bangladesh by 2-1 in final held in Kathmandu, Nepal. This is India’s maiden SAFF U-18 trophy.
