- 1st time after Partition, Nagar Kirtan arrives from Pakistan
For 1st time after Independence (1947), ‘Nagar Kirtan’ carrying Guru Granth Sahib which was taken out from Nankana Sahib district of Punjab province of Pakistan, arrived at Attari in Amritsar, India. Nagar Kirtan is a religious procession.

NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) recently discovered new dwarf star and planetary system named as TOI 270. It is located about 73 light years away from Earth, and in the constellation Pictor.

United Nations (UN) observed World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30 to raise awareness of the plight of human trafficking victims, and promote and protect their rights. The theme for this year was ‘Human Trafficking: Call Your Government To Action’.

- Shawala Teja Singh temple in Pakistan opened after 72 Years
Almost 1,000-year-old Shawala Teja Singh Temple located in Sialkot city of Pakistan, which was sealed for last 72 years, has been re-opened for devotees for the 1st time since partition.Decision to reopen temple was issued by Paksitan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

After years of controversy around sweet, Rasagola, a popular dessert of Odisha, has received Geographical Indication (GI) tag in GI Registry from Registrar of Geographical Indication. Both Odisha and West Bengal have been contesting origin of rasagola and West Bengal had got GI for ‘Banglar Rasogolla’ in 2017.
- Uttarakhand holds 1st Himalayan conclave
Conclave of Himalayan States was held on at Mussoorie in Uttarakhand to discuss priorities of Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) in 15th Finance Commission (XV FC). The conclave was initiated by government of Uttarakhand with Integrated Mountain Initiative as its knowledge partner.
