- Smartphone-Based System To Detect Milk Adulteration
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, the detector system measures acidity in milk using an indicator paper that changes colour according to acidity. They have also developed algorithms that can be incorporated on to a smartphone to accurately detect the colour change.

It is hospital-based programmes dedicated to improving antibiotic use. It is helpful in improving quality of patient care and safety through increased infection cure rates, reducing treatment failures and increasing the frequency of correct prescription for therapy and prophylaxis.
- Prof S.P. Ganguly awarded Mexican Order of Aztec Eagle
Mexican govt has honoured Indian academician Shyama Prasad Ganguly with the highest civilian honour given to a foreigner by Mexico. He was awarded for disseminating Spanish language and Mexican culture to strengthen Mexico-India cultural relations. He is 1st Indian Academician to get this award.
- Four new horned frogs discovered
Team of biologists has discovered four new species of Indian horned frogs from Himalayan regions of Northeast India. The team also comprised S D Biju. famously known as the ‘Frogman of India’. Horned frogs get their name from fleshy horn-like projection on upper eyelids of some species.

Charles was a philanthropic educator who belonged to 18th century France. Charles was a pioneer of dead education and was also known as ‘Father of the Dead’. He founded the first public school for the deaf. His methods of education have spread around the world.
- Morocco launches its second earth observation satellite
Morocco successfully launched its second earth observation satellite named Mohammed VI-B on board of Arianespace Vega rocket from launch pad at Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana in South America. It will be placed at same orbit as its twin satellite Mohammed 6-A, the first Moroccan satellite launched in November 2017 also on Vega rocket.

State-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) has inked agreement with US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to develop a roadmap for modernisation of its air traffic services. Air traffic services (ATS) comprises air traffic management (ATM) and communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS).
- India’s first sewer cleaning machine
Sulabh International has introduced India’s first sewer cleaning machine to reduce sewer deaths and put end to unsafe practice of manual scavenging. With help of it manual cleaner (safai karamchari) does not have to enter sewers. But if need arises and person has to go, then machine is fully equipped with gas checking machine.
- Govt to set up 1st National Institute of Inter-Faith Studies
Union Government will set up first-of-its-kind institute of Inter-Faith Studies in Punjab to promote brotherhood and diversity. It is being established as part of year-long activities to commemorate 550th birth anniversary of first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak.

Aim of promoting drug-less system of medicine to prevent diseases by altering diet and lifestyle. Till now, there was day to celebrate all streams of traditional medicine except Naturopathy.
